Lawrenceville

Artsy, funky and friendly are apt descriptors for Lawrenceville, one of Pittsburgh's hottest up-and-coming neighborhoods. No wonder. Lawrenceville is chock full of one-of-a-kind shops, interesting galleries, fabulous restaurants, and residents who are passionate about their neighborhood.

The Design Zone is made up of businesses located from 16th Street in the Strip District to 62nd Street in Lawrenceville. Numerous art studios, avant garde shops, unique clothing stores and home design shops abound in this friendly neighborhood where you'll find small Mom + Pop restaurants that offer great foods and ethnic fare.

The progressive neighborhood is becoming known for its environmentally friendly buildings, including the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh—if you visit at night, you can't miss the awesome light show atop the hospital! A drive through the neighborhood and you'll see plenty of dumpsters—a sign that renovations are ongoing as neighborhood buildings are being refurbished.
